Howdy ladies and gents, this is my first post but I have been reading a lot and love the site. <O</O I’m a new owner of a 2002 F-250 CC LB 4x4 7.3 AT. And I love it. I’ve had the truck for about 3 weeks now and I’ve already added,
4" exhaust turbo back, Intake, The standard three gauges (AT temp, EGT, and pyro)
AIH delete Turbo timer<O</O Factory tech Valve body mag-hytec deep tranny pan
and soon i need to install my wicked wheel and CCV mod.
Now I believe that I’ve done the recommended pre-requisite mods for a chip, (any others that I should do?)
so now its time to get a chip/tuner.
I want something that is adjustable from in-cab, im looking at the 6 position ones from either bully dog, dieselsite, or the others. They all seem to be the same. Is this true? Anyone with experience or recommendations for one over the other. (And yes I’ve searched for hours and found some info but would like more specific recommendations). I know everyone will have their opinion but that’s what im looking for.
BTW, the truck is used for mostly daily driving but I do tow a 9k trailer a couple times a month.
I hear Jody Tipton @ http://www.dp-tuner.com/ is THE man to get hold of for your tuning needs. I've done the same as you on the mods, adding the chip last. Working on beefing up the truck in many ways to handle the extra power.
read many postive postings about Jody Tipton.
Hope this helps.
Welcome to FTE SBChero! i would recommend checking blackclouddiesel.com, they have 6,5,4,3,2 position chips. but if you want all out custom, jody can burn them for you. i would get a sonnax valve while checking BCD, it will save your transmission. what color is your truck, PM me some pics! mine sounds just like yours without all the mods!
I agree with PSNut. DP-Tuner(jody tipton) is the way to go, you can get an off the shelf chip or get one custom burned to how you want it. I've heard nothing but good things about jodys chips and his customer service.
