Single or true dual flows

I own a 1995 F-250 with a 351. Right now I have a si/do 40 series muffler. It sounds good but I want more volume. I know some of you pros have the answer to this question. I have 1 catalytic converter. I was thinking of just hollowing it out. If I do this will the sound increase greatly? My alternate plan was to put true duals with 2 40 series flows on there. What will this sound like? Will they sound the same?

This is EXACTLY what i want also lol I've been hearing that you have to get true duals done by a custom shop. If you gutted your cats, and put true duals on with 40 series flows it would sound AWSOME!

You only have 1 catalytic converter???

I get the picture that the cat just deadens a **** load of sound. But the main question I want answered is whether or not true duals with 2 flows will sound better than a single with a gutted cat?

Ya, the cheap route would be to gut the cat or take it off. That would be loud. But if you did true duals with 40 series than it would sound better, but cost more. True duals would open up some hp and let the engine flow better (less back pressure). But you don't want the pipes too big. So if you went with true duals i'd do like 2 1/2 inch pipes. I'm guessing that if you did go with true duals then you'd run them with no cats right? Cause that would be insane.

I do realize that I can save myself about $200-350 just by gutting my cat. Can anyone be more specific with the different tones that I will get from each of the ideas that I am talking about? True duals will be louder, lower, raspier??? Single with a gutted cat will sound lower???

Hollowed out cats sound like s**t. Just cut them off and replace with exhaust pipe.

true duals won't make it any louder it will just give you more HP if you want it loud cut the cats right off and add a pipe in.

I have a fairly built 460 to long tube headers and 3" EMT coming off each of those into its own 40 series flowmasters with an H pipe before the mufflers. And no cats. It's a bit loud.
