MSD ignitions

I'm wondering where i can purchase a MSD ignition. I am looking for the distributor, Control module and all the wiring. summit wants an arm and a leg but if i get desperate i guess i will have to deal with it.

is it true that a dist. from a 351m will fit in a 460? just wondering because its been awhile since i have been on here and i remember reading something about that.

the reason i'm lookin for a new kit is because my truck is not yet road legal and i bought a new Edelbrock 600 for my truck but i can't feel the true power yet because it isn't firing right. if i let it idle sometimes it sounds really good like one of those hot rods at a car show. then it will start sounding like 2 spark plugs arn't firing. i plan on also getting an air/fuel guage. what is a good cheap one to buy?

thanks for any suggestions

A stock Duraspark module will do that very thing when it is suffering from heat induced failure. Take the module off and test it at a parts store.

Get a good OEM Ford module if you can and mount it at least 1/4" off the mounting surface to let air flow under it. There is a Ford TSB on this. OEM modules can be purchased from a Ford dealer, found in the scrap yard, or purchased on eBay. If you look on eBay lots of sellers will cal their modules OEM Ford but they are just an aftermarket unit, -watch out. Take a couple of OEM Ford Motorcraft scrap yard modules to the store for testing. I have found that many of the OEM modules in the scrap yards are good.

You don't have to replace the Dizzy to see a MSD difference. Before you give up the arm and a leg, try just the box and coil ($200) -only an arm. You can easily hook up the MSD box to the magnetic pickup...I didn't have a dizzy choice for my six.

You can't get much cheaper than Summit!
If you don't want to spend the money on MSD go to WELLS website and look at they're online magazine(they wrote an article about the duraspark ignition module and why they're replacement is so much better.
If you want one I'll send it to u for $10.00 + s&h. It's almost brand new and works just fine.( I'm replacing my ignition with MSD 6A, Blaster SS coil and an Accell Blue Print dist.
