[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-Sep-02 AT 03:48 AM (EST)]Unless you changed the motor to a 351W you should have a 351M thats the only 351 that came in 1978. Just a thought as to why they don't fit. Good Luck!
mauser is correct in his observation-------I put aset of sandersons on my 77 hiboy and they fit perfectly , but mine were the block huggers---they make a very good product so there must be a miscommunication somewhere!!!fd
I'm running with MAC shorty headers intended for a Mustang in my 79 F150 with 351W. I used factory Mustang headers when I first put the engine in, they can be seen in my gallery. I'm planning on cleaning everything on my truck this weekend and taking some new picture next week.
I also used the FF4 from sanderson, I had to send them back to be re-worked...The passenger side header was still hitting the frame and starter even when they moved them out...
My truck came stock with a 400, I transplanted a 351W roller into it...I will be taking pictures tonight of the whole setup and problem...
