Im in the process of redoing a 1970 Custom. It doesnt need much work minus a paint job and an engine rebuilding. It has a 302-2v with 27,000 original miles on it, and I pulled the motor tonight because it was reading 5-10 psi on a new manuel oil guage. Plus like I said before it needs a rebuild, its sat most of its life. Anyways, Ive got a performer intake and a set of headers laying around and was wondering would it be worth my time to put them on?
That might wake it up a bit, most of those engines were restricted by the exhaust manifolds. But it will still be a high-revving horsepower engine, rather than a torque motor that a truck needs. You might want to look around for a 351 to put in, or a small-block bell 400 for even more off the line grunt.
Im not exactly looking for grunt lol, i know that sounds strange, this truck is going to be a gift for my dad, he just wants somthing he can cruise around in on the weekends.

That sounds like great gift for your dad. Yes the Performer and headers should give it a little more go making it a very nice driver. A set of duals and mags will finish it off, the 27,000 miles make it a sweet truck.
