Rear diff fill plug

Whats the best way to remove the rear diff filler plug with out tearing it up too much?

Soak it with penetrant (WD 40 or PB Blaster) and then use a rachet or breaker bar with a short extension. I think it is a 1/2" if I remember right.

the size of it seams to be between 3/8 and 1/2, could it be metric

an impact wrench seams to work better then using a ratchet handle cause you can hold it more square. use an extension tho so you dont mess up the end of the impact wrench.
