Accel DFI Not running right.
Truck is a 1994 F-150, 5.8L, E40D
I did not expect any performance/mileage gains from this at all, as it is the only addition to my truck, however since it was a gift, I did not hestitate to install it. My throttle does seem a little snappier, however that is the only good thing. The engine does not seem to run quite right now. It seems a little sluggish in general...sort of doggy at all rpm ranges/speeds.
At first I wondered if the timing was off, but my Haynes says the timing cannot be adjusted on my vehicle.
All my cap, rotor, plugs and wires are also Accel, and were new about a week ago. Went through all the emissions and sensors about 3 months ago. The truck ran as normal (which may not have been perfect, but was better than now) directly before installation.
I was given a new TFI module, and its supposed to be the right one, but it has three prongs on it, that my original one doesnt...is this right? Could this be the one remaining weak link causing me some issues?
I went through and double checked all the wiring...everything is tight, grounds are good. The box is mounted within a few inches of the manifold, against the firewall, but it wasn't very warm when I opened the hood with the engine running. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
[on edit]: I forgot to mention, the instructions said to unplug the ballast resistor when I installed the new coil. I had made the assumption this was the resistor attached to the coil mount, so I unplugged it.

I read a couple other posts about jumping the SPOut plug, and then setting the timing as you normally would...does this work on my truck? I'm just trying to avoid a complete meltdown, since its the only vehicle I have right now.
And I looked up Ballast resistors, and found thats not what that thing is...so what is the small capacitor looking thing attached to my coil mount?
So, now my question is: What is the purpose of this capacitor, and what signal did it smooth out?
