Do i need to remove the dizzy to replace the pip, I dont own a vice or pully to pull of the drive gear. I just mover here to Beatrice Ne. and dont know anybody who could help. Jon
What motor & truck? You generally don't need a puller to get the dizzy out. Just get the hold down bolt out of the way and it pulls right out. Of course, you'll need to set the timing after you put it back in.

It depends on what Ignition System you have, if you have a Duraspark II then NO, you do not have to remove the Distributor. If you have a TFI Ignition System with a Universal Distributor then the answer is YES, you do have to remove the Distributor and remove the gear.
Sounds like you have a TFI. The TIF has large plug that plugs into the side of the Distributor. The Duraspark II has wires coming out right under the cap and a round plug about 6 " away.
