1996 F-150 Radiator replace
Had a slow radiator leak for many months now--would leak mainly when cold outside.
Ordered a radiator from www.radiator.com
Radiator remove and replace went well except for one thing...The lower transmission cooler line was a bear to get off--of course I rounded off the head and had to get off with a trusty vise grip pliers. Well, I tried to put it back together again with the messed up trans coolant line fitting and, you guessed it, the fitting leaked--not fast, but steady-slow. Trying to find that fitting is impossible, dealer didn't have. Went to NAPA autoparts and they hooked me up with some break line fittings and away I went. Went to Autozone to get a double-flange making line tool thing. Had to hacksaw off the totally chewed up trans coolant line fitting. After a few practice double flange making attempts with some scrap brake line, I made a pretty good flange on the line attached to the truck (yes I remembered to put the fitting on first). Well, works great now with no leaks!
