ive looked at alot of the albums on here and have seen alot of really nice trucks, but alot of the really nice ones i.e. paint jobs, do not have the chrome on the sides. is this a new trend ? should i rip mine off? just wondering
the idiot
Could be a few reasons. Many of the trucks are Customs which usually didn't have any chrome. Plus the chrome is easily damaged and expensive to replace so often is eliminated. And shaving all the chrome, emblems and handles is very popular in the hot rod/ custom car world. I'm with Jerm, I like a little chrome, but mine is a Custom with no chrome except the grill shell and front bumper, so it'll be one of the chromeless ones too...

the ranger model also has crome around the bottom, and the wheel wells.. also has a crome ring around the rear window... or atleast the one i just bought dose.......
i'm elminating most of it on my truck, because it was only half there, and it tends to rust out body pannels up here in the salt belt.
Keep the Chrome - it is an eye catcher - you are lucky to have it - mine, being a Custom, has little chrome - bumpers, grill, rain gutters, headlight bezels - wish I had more....
Keep it Rubber Side Down!
Interesting. Mine is a Custom and it has full racetrack chrome, chrome drip rails and the band around the back of the cab. I even have trim on the top and bottom of my tailgate and around both tailights.
Personnaly, I like the looks of it on my truck. It sets off the tan and cinnimon paint job.

The chrome is whre you want it, As for me ALL of my trucks have chrome Alot of it has been replaced, and it is hard to find the original Ford chrome. If you got it, flaunt it!!!!
