'00 Expedition Guages

'00 Expedition Guages

For the past week or so, as I would crank my Exp. all the gauges would "peg out" momentarily, (meaning they would all go to the far right) then after a 5-10 seconds they would return to normal. What causes this? Thanks!

Meaning it's supposed to do that? It's never done it before that I've noticed.

Yeah... its kinda like the computer on your truck making sure everything is still there and functioning

I heard that this happens when your battery is on its way out. Did you happen to notice any fidgeting of the gauges lately?

Yeah, mine started doing the same thing a couple months ago. I was told it's the battery getting ready to go. I haven't changed the battery yet, but I do notice it starting to do it more and more. Especially after sitting overnight.
