I've updated my gallery. Work is going a bit slower than I'd like, but it's kinda warm to be working outside. I've got the cab rolled back on the frame, gonna start fabbing the mounts this week (hopefully). Between my son's football practice and wife's school, hard to get much time lately. Helps that I had two days in a row off this week!
A project of that magnitude will take time regardless of some more important activities like family 1st issues. I've been going on year two on my resto; but its great to get more than one day in a row to work on your project; keep wrenching and time will become avaiable.
nice project.
Hi Mike,we started our projects about the same time.Mines the 62f100 with the 04 crown vic eng/tranny IFS,with any luck I may have a rolling chassis this weekend.I spend a lot of time on mine but some times I think I'm in reverse.I think I spend more time trying to figure out what to do than actually doing it.
If you get any good info on the wiring please pass it along.I'm going to use the c/v harness can't afford a custom made.Best of Luck Larry
I spent all day Friday at work modifying the clutch/brake pedal hanger, so I could nest the hanger for the CV brake/steering column into it. Got the brake master cylinder/booster installed, still working on the column.
Updated my gallery to show current progress. Column is located pretty close, I need to throw a seat in to check.
I fabbed a crossmember for the rear cab mounts, it will also support the front of the bed after I add a couple of pieces running to the rear suspnsion structure.
Mike, looking great, I have the engine/trany in.Had to go with 8.8 rearend.I will try and mount the cab tomorrow then I can start the wiring.Still a long ways to go.If you have any good material on wiring the power train please send it to me.Thanks Larry
Mike its looking great. Early 80 fairmonts have a small diameter brake booster. I'm using one from an 84. If you look at my gallery I have a poor picture of it. Its hidden by the air cleaner in the second pic.

Reason: bad info
Thanks, Larry, and cobraguy. I'll look into the fairmont setup. Once I get a handle on the wiring, I'll let you know, every time I think I got it figured out, it turns back into spaghetti...lol!
MIke, I looked at the master cyl and boost. It looks way to big and will have to be moved to the left to clear eng.How did you handle this? Cobraguy does yours have power brakes?Mike are you going to use the 64 radator or the C/V. Thanks Larry
It clears the engine by a long way, but it JUST tucks under the cowl. I'll send you some pics of how I got it installed. I am going to use a smaller booster, tho. I need to make room for the computer harness.
I'm using the F100 radiator out of my 62. I have the mounting brackets installed so the radiator sits forward of the support, had to clear the 390 fan.
