Speedometer cable
I need to find a speedometer cable for my '78 F-250 4x4 Ext cab truck. i see a thick wire coming out of my transfer case but it's only 12" long. where can i get another one at and where does it plug into?

There is a small , short bolt (3/8's I think) that holds the cable in the correct position on the xfer case-----take that bolt loose and look at the gear to determine its condition---that cable should run back into and behind your dash and screw into the little thingy that tells you how fast you're not going------also if you don't have aset of service manuals---I would consult Motor haven here on this website and\or look on ebay for a used, origional set of truck manuals---for your truck , I picked up a set for my 77 for about 65-----best money I ever spent----- fd
