Finding Pin#48 On the Computer

Ok i bought a Tach for my 97 4.2 and read EVERY post on installing this. It sounds like there is a White wire with a pink tracer on the computer. I was looking and never seen any Pin 48 or White?pink wire. I seen a pink/white wire. I think i am looking in the wrong spot or something. Does someone have a picture or can explain what computer exactly and where this Pin 48 and White/Pink wire is. Thanks

the computer you are looking for is the pcm (powertrain control module). its up under the dash on the passenger side. it is on the far right side and i think it might be bolted to the metal side. it is a white and pink wire on pin 48. the pins numbers are in no specific order so its not the the actual 48th pin in accending order. it is the 8th pin from the left and is in between a light blue and red wire, and a red wire. hope this helps.

yea you have to remove the plastic panel that covers the area between the bottom off the dash and the floor. the fuel reset is also behind it. pull that thing out, shine a light in there and you will see a metal box. thats the pcm.

Ya ok i found the grey/silver box WAY up in by the firewall on the passenger side. And i took the little black clip off that holds it on and now it doesnt want to come out. I pulled on it and it comes out a half and inch or so but then dont wanna come. I didnt want to pull REAL hard and wreck sometihng. Is there a special way to get this damn thing out. I take it the pins are on the back as thatsthe only side i cant see. Anybody know how exactly to take it out
