Flickering lights
I have a 95 Ranger and I'm having a problem that has my mechanic and dealership stumped. My battery gauge jumps and when this happens my interior/exterior lights flicker. Can anyone give me an idea of what could be causing this?

Does it do this randomly, or in a pattern? Does it do it only at night with the headlights on, or anytime? If it's random, there is probably a loose or corroded connection in the alternator wiring. I would un-wrap all the alt wiring, because there are some factory splices that seem to corroded easily.
You may also want to make sure the regulator is grounded(if it's the seperate type) and make sure the radiator support or fender it's bolted to has a good ground.

I would check the main engine ground (battery to engine ground strap). Make sure that it is clean and tight. There is also several frame gounds to the body/bed. If any of the grounds are loose, it will cause this type of condition.
