1st Bronco Ever

Okay please bare with me. This is my first Ford ever bought. I have a 1984 Bronco. The problem is I cant find parts cause im not sure what motor is in it, Eaither the 302 or the 351, It has the 2 barrel carb also, Can someone please help me. Also it rides like a tank, lol. The smallest bump shakes the whole truck. I put on some Rancho RS9000 shocks and it doesnt seem too help. I noticed it has duel shocks up front could this be part of my problem? What would be the best option for this? Thanks...................

here you go

351C/M/400 335 series: 8 bolts in rectangular valve covers. Timing chain housing is part of block. Thermostat housing on block. Exhaust bolt holes diagonal.
351M/400 335 series: intake is 12.7" wide the 351C is narrow.
351W/302/5.0L 6 bolts on trapezoidal valve covers. Thermostat housing on intake. Exhaust bolt holes horizontal.
429/460 385 series: 7 bolts in rectangular valve cover
352/360/390/427/428 FE series: Intake goes under valve covers.

whats your vin? it is easy to find the engine from the vin#

ford390gashog, Got the engine part. But yes try to find the Vin #, and it'll be alot easyer to tell.

As for as supsension, adjust those 9000 shocks to their lowest setting, and they sell super flex suspension parts and I'm sure they would be smother ridding than stock.

Well, thise might be easier, measure the intake from valvecover edge too edge.
302 should be around 9" and 351w should be about 11"
As for parts if you check out boneyards everything on a bronco is the same as an f-150, except the quarterpanels and fiberglass top.
Also, you can check LMC truck, jeffs bronco graveyard. just a few off the top of my head.
Also, broncos are not a very soft riding truck, if something doesent seem right I would inspect all bushings for wear.

Hope that helps.

the 8th letter in the VIN is the engine code.

E or Y is a 300cid I6, 1 bbl carb
F is a 302 with a 2bbl carb
N is a 302 with fuel injection
W or G is a 351W with a 2bbl carb
H is a 351 with a 4bbl carb

hope this helps, good luck with your bronco
