Looking for tips

Here are my truck specs and the upgrades I've done:
1997
F-150
Supercab Shortbox
4.6L V8
V-force single inlet dual outlet exhaust
Jets Throttle body spacer
K&N Air Intake
Hypertech Power Programmer

My question is if anyone has any suggestions on what I can further do to my truck to increase the performance without going all out ie. new tranny/engine or any other major money sucking endeavours. I was thinking about putting headers on my truck, but it's not clear how much it would cost as it's more a matter of the time the mechanic has to put and it's not for sure how long that is. I've also put BF Goodrich A/T tires on my truck and considered putting mag rims on, but that's not having to do with performance. All suggestions are welcome.

well i would regear. you said you had aftermarket tires are they bigger than stock in diameter? if so you lose off the line power so you need to regear for the bigger tire.

No, they're not really any bigger. I may do a body lift kit down the road and therefore put on 33" tires. Right now my tires are 255's on a 15" rim. On a side note I recently went to the dyno in Ottawa on my way through and got some power readings on my beast.

164hp @ 4400RPM
205ft.lbs @ 3300RPM
16.6 seconds in the 1/4 mile

I would go with a better rear end like maybe 4:10's, you will notice quite a difference if you have the 3:55's like most f150's

I agree on the gear swap. Its the best bang for the buck & you can leave your engine stock

What would that do for my gas mileage though? I'm still learning quite a bit about my truck (and vehicles in general) so I'm sorry if these question seem a little ammature. I have heard that a gearing like that would just suck the fuel back like crazy.

It will make the engine work less and shouldn't really effect it much. In OD, you won't notice a big difference, maybe 400-600 rpm at 60mph.
