I know this question has been asked a million times, but I'm gonna ask anyways.
It's a 390. All I've done to my truck is put on a MSD 6A ignition box, MSD mechanical advance distributor(no vacuum advance), 8mm wires, Blaster 2 coil, Edelbrock Performer manifold, and Carter AFB 600 cfm carb. Has stock heads with no head work, and stock cam. Engine has been bored .060 over.
I know this isn't gonna be a hot engine, but I'm hoping the 4v manifold and carb will gimme another 15-25hp. I don't wanna take it to the dyno for such mild changes and I was hoping you guys might have an idea what my numbers would be with these small changes.
Ohh, btw, stock exhaust manifolds, dual exhaust with glasspaks feeding out in front of the passenger side rear tire.
Thanks in advance.(any suggestions welcome, though my wife might not think so )
I think for this engine, an Edelbrock Performer intake, or a stock 4-barrel if you can lift it, would work well. However, a good set of headers would give more hp than the intake would ever get you.
i'd like to know do u notice much difference with the intake and how do u like the carter carb? i'm thinking of doing similar to my 360 - better intake and carb, but no machine work or bigger cam. headers too if i can find them!

The 1 7/8" long-tube headers I have on my 390 were originally on my 360. Even with a 2bbl carb on the 360, there was a big difference in power after putting on the headers, and it already had full duals to Thrush mufflers (glorified tin cans).
I think using a 4bbl with stock exhaust manifolds will be little improvement unless you put headers on it.
I have a 390 2 barrell I am presently installing a 390 performer , flow tech headers and a eldebrocke 650 thunder series 4x4 card. Other wise stock, I will let you know if the power is what I was hoping for in a couple of weeks.
