clutch bleeding nightmare

I have a 94 f450 superduty rollback and took it to a shop and they put a clutch and surfaced my flywheel. My clutch will not disengage. They replaced the master and slave cylinder and gravity bled it for a week and it still wont work. I was wondering if since they surfaced the flywheel did thy need to shim it? The shop had my truck for 3 months and I took the truck so now I have to fuigure out how to bleed it. Its the slave cylinder with the allen screw.

Forgive me if I am being ignorant, but what exactly do you mean by "shimming the flywheel"? If the flywheel was too far away from the pressure plate due to material being removed from the surface of the flywheel, the clutch would slip, but they would have had to remove a whole lot of material I would think for that to happen. Can you explain what they did by "gravity bleeding the slave cylinder for a week? If all they did was "gravity bleed" it, the air may never move out of the line or the cylinder, the fluid would just bypass it and drip out due to gravity.

gravity bleed?????? i think you may have taken it to a really bad shop and i mean really bad. to bleed it open up the bleed screw and pump the clutch and keep it filled with brake fluid.

okay the truck is fixed now. The idiots at the shop replaced my master cylinder and didnt tighten the bolts. When you push the clutch in it would move an inch from the firewall! There is supposed to be two bolts holding the master cylinder but there was only one and it wasnt even finger tight. I put a new bolt and tightened the ms and went to bleed the clutch and noticed the bolts on the clutch to the flywheel were loose as hell and one had fell out so I tightend those with locktite and had my buddy help me bleed it and it worked perfect after two minutes of bleeding. How can a big shop like that make me wait for months for a half *** job. Thanks for everybodys help.

For future ref. The easiest way to bleed the clutch ,providing it has the standard bleed valve , is to fill it in reverse flow. It is done by using a plastic turkey baister, the thing the cooks use to suck up juice and squirt it on the turkey. add a piece of hose on the end of the baister, and fill with brake fluid. Then, 1) put a wrench over the bleeder. 2) Put hose over the bleeder.3) Open bleeder, and sqeeze the fluid in till the clutch master is full and close bleeder. 4) Remove hose and wrench, DONE. I used to do it this way on the Ford C-8000 I had and it works slick Good luck Phil
