What do you mean 85e150six4mtod, about no crate motor 300 six?
If your asking why ford doesn't have one, well then ford doesn't sell crate motors or any new motors for that matter, just remanufactured.

It's a joke, son.... as they used to say in the cartoon.

The Ford Racing site has all these stroker 400 and 500 horse motors, and the way guys talk on the six threads I just thought it's kinda funny there isn't a 7000 rpm turbo'd 600 horse 300 available, like you'd think there would be after reading some postings.....

What the heck do you mean???

I'm looking at 13 pages of Ford crate motors in the 2005 FRPP catalog(God, I hate that acronym!) Lots of new motors(including blocks) there!!

I thought Ford wouldn't sell new motors.
I thought they only had rebuilt blocks, at least that's all I saw when was looking for somthing like that for my 302.
Sorry about the wrong info, but I didn't think Ford did that.

There's a few 4 cylinders in there too.


There are a few rebuilts in the crate section(using new internals) but there seemed to be more "new sportsman blocks" in the description section where it states, "What you get."

The Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog is to me is what a Fredricks Of Hollywood catalog is to a 13 year old puberty stricken young male.....

Any time, just bring it to my place, the only thing is you'll need somthing to haul it off with(I have alot of amou and time).

Anyone who questions the 460 mains...all i say is just go look at them and the bolts. They are pretty beefy

The bbf lasted 30 yrs(460s anyway). I did extensive research on bbfs and bbcsWhen I built my street truck, and kept finding that the Fords are more durable. A stock crank can go 700hp. A stock c6 can go lots more. Most Fords dont need 4b mains. They help strengthen the block so the cranks wont move and break. FEs used them to combat cap walk. Not for strength. Although it is a side benefit. BBFs are much more common in boats and non vehicle apps. Bob Glidden beat everybody for 10 years straight with a BBF. Top that! If you want reliability and strength, I dont think you could beat an old 390 or a 370 or 429 Lima. This is just what Ive seen in my Ford years. My dad has had GMCs, Fords and now a Dodge. the K20 or whatever(3/4ton heavy duty axles and brakes),was a rusty hunk that broke all the time.It had a hole when it was 1yo. At 5 years old it finally got parked, full of holes and a bad trans(46K). It did run good after he chucked the quadrajet that refused to be right. I can remeber that thing would shake your teeth out. and got about 8mpg. The 84 F250 Diesel ran great for 10 years with a pump rebuild and main bearings due to driving home 35 miles with a bad oil pump at 100k. The 95 dodge 350 Diesel is very powerful but has weaker brakes, lots of small issues, and generally not great quality. The engine leaked oil when it was brand new. The paint is coming off. My dad said if he didnt love the engine, he'd go back to Ford.He was impressed at how good my 96 F150 looked when I bought it last year.

I think its safe to say that the 460 is a tough motor.I have had plenty off experience with them beings I have 2 in industrial applications with thousands off hours an no problems. TYhe low end torque off this motor makes it a favorite for guys in Ford trucks in mud bogs an truck pulls. The 300 six an 460 were two off my favorite motors. A mechanic friend off mine always told me that the 460 will outlast a 454 any day. Hope the chevy guys arnt looking Ill never here the end off it.

Where the heck did you get your "extensive research"???

GM's (unfortunately) are DOMINANT in the boating world form pleasure to full out race.

I wanted nothing more than to run a BBF in my boat.......the $$$$ to make it work with the preferred Mercruiser drives is just insane.

Even Ford's domination in comp ski boats is gone now...........find me a new ski boat with a Ford. I can't even find the 5.4 Lightning that was in the Ski-Natique any longer...............damn shame.
