Grease question

After several decades I started changing oil myself again. What type of grease should go in my grease gun for steering linkage?

Just about anything will work. My favorite is grease at tractor supply there generic brand. Use it in all my farm equipment and it works fine for me. I also grease all my farm tractors/implemnts evrytime i fuel them and my truck about 4 times a year. Mostly casue it sees so much off roading need to push the water and dirt outa the joints.

I tried a synthetic grease called One Grease and have been happy with it. It is supposed to flow better at cold temperatures. It only costs a couple of dollars more than other grease, so instead of something like $1.99 it's $3.99 or whatever. Considering how much grease you actually use and how cheap it is, I don't think that this is the place to try to save money. Get the best grease that you can. I still have the same tube that I bought about five years ago, although I don't drive through water crossings or deep mud very often. Just make sure that it is the proper type for the application and temperature range. For example, on wheel bearings you want to be sure that the grease is rated for wheel bearings. Not all grease is, and if you use the wrong type it will thin out when hot and fly out while driving and I don't have to tell you what happens next. But for the steering linkage and suspension, just about any type of grease will work. If you have an air compressor, a pneumatic grease gun is a nice thing to have. I bought one for under $20. They even make cordless, battery operated grease guns now.
