Oh no! My windshield on my '76 F250 cracked! I am leery of the windshield repair companies because I have heard the replacement windshields are not as thick. Am I better off pulling a decent one from a junkyard and buying a new seal (I think my is shot anyway)? Any experience on this? Thanks for taking the time. pete.
i've never heard that one b4. i just bought a new windsheild for my 78 i'm fixing up, and it was only $230 canadian for a tinted windsheild, installed, taxes included...
Just about any windshield in a salvage yard will be sand blasted from road grit. I've also heard that they get brittle with time and can crack when installed. Of course I heard that from a windshield installation guy. I got a new one for my 76 a couple of years ago. really nice and around a couple of hundred dollars.
