Finally getting a Superduty!

I'm finally doing it. I sold my Bronco and found a 2000 F-250. It has 91K on the 7.3L, Lariat package, Crew Cab, Automatic, White/tan, tinted windows, spray in bed liner, new tires, and billet grill. I got it for $23,000. I'm flying to Houston to pick it up next Friday. I'm excited. FINALLY! I'll be looking for the travel trailer in December or January.

Thanks, I'm debating between the Keystone Cougar, Keystone Laredo, or the Crossroads Cruiser, all of which are 5ers. I'm just trying to convince my wife that the bathroom in the bedroom isn't a big deal. She doesn't like it because it is inconvenient for guests. I tell her they'll get over it.

This is a little off truck topic, but you're pulling your trailer with your truck so I guess it counts.
I've owned two 5er's and really enjoy MY privacy at night if traveling with more than just my wife. I highly recommend at least a draw blind between the master bed area and the facilities. Our first trailer was a 21' Terry Resort and the bathroom was a seperate (very small) room. that was accessed from the kitchen area. I still like that setup better than the one that I have now. My current trailer is a Cedar Creek 36 RLTS. The bathroom is broken up into the water closet in a seperate (tiny) room, the shower in a corner, and the bathroom sink/vanity next to the shower. It's a setup that works well.
But everyone's taste is different so I don't want to bore you with my point of view beyond this.
I've been trailering for 10 years now off and on with both just my wife and I and then with the rest of the family, as many as can cram into the cab of the truck. You might regret having the family tramp through your bedroom at night to answer nature's call. Especially if you are a light sleeper like me.

I see your point. Pretty much everyone in our family that we camp with already has a trailer so if we do actually take anyone it will be a friend or two on occasion. I really like the rear kitchen lay out because of the open living room area. So far I haven't seen a rear kitchen with a bathroom outside of the bedroom area. I would definately consider alternatives if the price is right. I'm considering online wholesalers because the price is unbeatable and I don't want to play the dealer games that they are notorious for.

Another thing that I would like to mention. If you are able to order your trailer new, specify a heavier rated axle than the one that they spec for the trailer. Mine came with six lug rims. I would have MUCH rather paid the little bit of extra for eight lug rims and the higher weight carrying capacity. I weighed my trailer at a scale one time and the axles are well within thier design limit, but still I like the extra margin. The thought never crossed my mind when I was going over the specs for the trailer. I would have pushed for that or no sale if I had the slightest idea.

Thanks kwik, thats a good point. I've heard that some trailers are running pretty flimsy axles for their weight. There is so much to consider when buying one of these. I will definitley research all of the ins and outs when the time to buy is closer. Thanks for the tip.
