Ive washed, waxed, and polished Everything on this truck of my fathers, I polished the Cragars 2 times so they should be pretty shiney by now, I just wanted to see what everyone thought. I used regular turtle wax , and turtle wax chrome polish for the chrome, its amazing what a little wax and polish will do.

It truly is amazing what a good wash and polish will do for a vehicle. Yours looks great! Don't forget the elbow grease and constitution to stick with it on a large vehicle.
Just a suggestion, try maybe sometime Meguires Cleaner Wax. That's what I used on my truck, helps a little to cover the scratches put in by the previous owner, plus it lasts long and looks good. Just my two cents.
I take the pictures of the side that the sun is pointing, but the other side is the same thing. Btw whats wrong with the turtle wax? I didnt know if the expensive stuff was worth the $$ or not, but Ill give it a try next time It gets nasty. Thanks for the comments
Hazmatt9777, first off, your truck looks fantastic, it appears to be in great shape.
There is nothing particularly bad about using turtle wax. If you are just aiming to put a coat of wax on your truck and be done with it for a little while then it's perfect. If you are trying to obtain the best shine and best protection over a period of time then it is not really the best thing to use.
Personally I'd recommend you trying out the Deep Crystal System by Meguiars, most auto retailers sell it. Step 1 is a paint cleaner, Step 2 is a car polish and Step 3 is Carnuba Wax. You just apply the products in order and it will give you probably the best shine your truck has had since it left the factory. Mothers also has a similiar system which sits right next to the Meguairs system at Pep Boys. It is also worth a shot if you are interested.
Hazmatt - the truck looks great. I especially like it because its one of my favorite body styles. I personally like the older boxie look as opposed to the newer round looking trucks.
Tomcat - I tried the Meguiars 3 step system on our Kenworth. I love the stuff on our 1992 F250 and my 1999 Grand Prix, but wasn't at all impressed with what it did (rather didn't do) for the 2000 KW. The 1992 & 1999 are under a carport most of the time so don't get much of the harsh weathers, the 2000 KW on the other hand is out there all the time and our Florida sun beats the c.......p out of it. I thought the Meguiars did a good job when I cleaned/polished/waxed it a couple weeks ago, but when I saw the oxidation on it today, I realized I had to try something new. I put a couple coats of "Liquid Glass" on it today and man did that bring the spark back to the paint. With any luck, this stuff will help in prolonging having to have the truck painted. Right now, it looks great . I'll definately keep you guys informed on how this stuff holds up.
BTW - this Liquid Glass stuff does NOT work on aluminium. That's what I originally got it for. It clouds it, real bad.
Carlene, let us know how that liquid glass works out for you.
Yes, the 3 step system from Meguiars is really the least aggressive product that they put out. It is more for just trying to remove fine scratches (such as spider webbing) other then the removal of oxydation.
Turtle Wax is a cleaning wax, Mother's and Meguiar's are just waxes. I've heard over time that the TW can cloud up decaling (if any) since the cleaner in it can create microscratches; the other two won't because the cleaner isn't in it. Just the wax. Basically, M's and M's are a more specialized product. All depends on the results you want, $$, etc.
