I have all of my heater parts finally together. Everything is blasted, painted and looking good.
I went with the script heater that was so graciously offered to me here from 49Willard. He happened to have a NOS script heater that after a little paint looks and operates like brand new.
I have the fan/motor attached through the firewall, and that went well.
However.... I can not figure out how the outside ducting is supposed to run, and I have no picture that clearly shows how it attaches up under the fender well.
The long tube runs right up next to the fender strut, but it does not look like there is anywhere to attach the final vent opening piece.
Does the vent tubing pass through the wheelwell inner well? How does the final open vent piece attach?
Does anyone have a photo or diagram that actually shows the heater vent tubing installed up under the fender well?
Here is a diagram that I have of the heater I am using, but it does not show how the vent tube is actually run/attached up under the fender well.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

It looks like your using the parts from a Magic Air heater. I have one I haven't put in yet, but your right that big tube runs from that little knock out area on side of cab. Then on underside of fender, over the fender support and to a area at front/top lip of front fender. You can find this area by standing in front of truck and watching roll of fender lip go above the headlight there should be a small plate recessed in there. That's where the intake connects, I hope you have all the parts to the heater system. Hope this helps.
Hmmmm... I think I may be missing the top plate above the headlamp. I will have to look closer, and see if I need to fabricate something. The magic air uses the same outside plumbing, but not the exterior fan/blower.
Ok... I found the mounting location for the inlet duct. It attaches just above the headlight. There is a knockout/removable plate, that can be seen looking up above the headlight. With this plate removed, the inlet duct is free to allow fresh air in.
Here is a photo of the mount location, in case anyone in the future is installing a heater on a truck that did not come with one originally.
Thanks
BELOW: you can see the knockout plate that is a long triangular shape. Remove this to allow the fresh air to enter the intake duct. Be sure to install screen material before the inlet duct.
