I've been searching the forums to no avail. In my experience with past forums a search can be an endless pusuit in the effort to not double post. Anyway...
I just bought a barn-found '68 250 Flarside farm truck with 66K (images will be in the gallery next week) in what I think is Holly Green (it's faded bad but responds well to a little compund). What I'm wondering is that the headlight surrounds, grille and both bumpers are white. In my searches, I've found body colored or white or brushed or polished metal surrounds, grilles, bumpers, or any combination of the above.
Can I find out from my VIN or some other code what color these parts were originally? It's clear to me they were repainted at some point, but were they originally white or some other color?
The standard grille and bumper was painted white. (someone correct me if i'm wrong) The bright aluminum grille was an option. If your truck is just an old farm truck with no options, chances are it was just the standard grille and bumper
