Distributor / 6v / New Engine ?

I'm posting this question to understand my options & increase my post count. So please do not be alarmed if I reply to every response personally.

Seriously though, I've been thinking about using a 272/292 instead of the 239 in the truck now. I would like to keep the truck 6v if possible. Does that lock me into the 54 distributor or are there any aftermarket distributors ~or~ other distributors that will work w/ the 6v system?

btw, truck transport scheduled for early Sept & located a local machinist for king pin work. The game is afoot Watson!!

The point set does not care what voltage you use they are nothing more than a switch to turn the coil on and off. You can use the coil and other pieces from your current 6 volt system and be fine.
