In other posts dealing with the wider openings, I do remember that the openings looked a little odd unless a big wheel and tire was installed. Good luck, Jag
I have a 55 F100. I have a parts truck near me that is a 54 F250. The 54 is complete and realy straight and is only 200 bucks. What other parts would be direct bolt ons between the 2 trucks?

I wouldn't use the fenders. The larger openings will make your truck look higher because of the air over the front tires. I converted an F-3 to and F-1 due to the same problems. The F2/F3 fenders have larger wheel well openings also. As far as I know there is hardly any difference between the 53-55 cab at all, just like 48-50.
Doc,
The main differences between the F-100 and F-250 sheet metal would be the front fender openings and the bed is longer, wider and taller on the F-250. The rear fenders are common, but the rest of the bed is unique. The grills for 54 and 55 are different, and so are the gravel pans that install below the grills. So, depending on what you need, there may be lots of usable parts and $200 doesn't sound like a bad price.
If the tail gate is good, I know that F250Rob was looking for one for his 56. He's in Fort Worth, so not too far away.
Doc, could you clue us in as to where this straight, complete, F-3 is? With a tel. # also? I have been looking for one that is in good shape for my 1955 F-600 for a long time! My front fenders, cowl, cab, and doors are way past repair due to excessive rust out. Thanks, Okie
Okie,
I let it slip right through my hands. If I hear of another one, I'll certainly let you know. I'm definately keeping my eyes open because I need several parts also. I have a friend of mine that is supposed to be letting me know about 2 more trucks sitting in a field.
