Tuff Country

Bought the Tuff Country leveling kit for my F350.
It recommend changing the track bar to the 1" size if you have the 3/4".

Whats the reason, difference, is it absolutely necessary?
They have a 1" track bar for $120, are they available for less at Ford, or a junkyard?

Thanks

I have an '02 F-350 with the same kit. I do not know which track bar mine has but I did not change it. I have put over 20k miles on the kit with no problems. I assume the only reason for the 1" bar would be for more strength since you will probably add larger tires. I run 305's.

It's a strength thing. The 3/4" bar might bend under the added stress. Almost all of our trucks have the 1" bar. The 3/4" only showed up on the early 02's.

You can get a adjustable track bar for $150-165 at Rubicon Express. Go for the HD one. Is the TC kit all spring or an add-a-leaf? How does it ride?
