Anyone have theirs break?
Both of the clips that hold mine close snapped off with in 2 hours of each other.
Seems odd that the heat would have any effect, since it was only 85 yesterday.
Any ideas on how to take down the overhead console?
I can't seem to find the fasteners, even on the inside.
I replaced 2 on my truck within 6 months of each other. At approx $110.00 each I quit using the thing for a while untill I got over the jitters of pushing the clips. Now I push on them very very softly and the last one has lasted over 1 year. To take off the console there are no fasteners it just snaps in place just grab it and pull down.
i have heard that the individual doors cost $70-$80 a piece. i had the rear one broke when i bought the truck (garage door opener holder). since no one looks up there, i leave it in the center console. silicone is a good way to get them to stay up there. only one of the clips (out of four) that hold the door on the pivoting mechanism is broken, and that causes it to malfunction. i dont need a garage door opener anyway
