When I start my 292 and run about 10 minutes it back fires but after a few more minutes it won't do it.
What am I missing, I just tuned it with everything new. I set the points at .015.
Assuming that this happens only when the engine is cold, your choke is most likely set too lean. If you have a 'crossover' or 'heat riser' valve in the exhaust, make sure that it moves freely. It will help warm up the intake & incoming air charge for better combustion.
The other alternatives are timing too far advanced or a sticking valve.
