2001 Ranger Cuting out under load

2001 Ranger Cuting out under load
My 2001 v-6 has started cutting out under extreme load. Example when entering freeway. I thought that The transmission was trying to shift, but the transmission mechanic said that the engine was actually dying. I have not noticed a check engine light. Any ideas? TIA

I have a 2001 Ranger with the 4.0L. A couple weeks ago my engine started cutting out as well. It got to the point where my engine would die as I was going down the road so I took it in. They said that my computer needed to be reprogramed. Not sure if it had anything to do with the chip I installed but it runs great now. I did remove the chip before I took it in though.

2001 Ranger Cuting out under load
Well I got a chirp in the engine. When I put a scope on it, the chirp seemed to move around. Took it to a mechanic and he experienced the same problem trying to locate the chirp. He finally found it. a bearing on the Cam Sensor Syneronizer was bad. Replaced the Cam Sensor Syneronizer and the stumble went away. BTW the engine did not show any codes.
