that really depends on your location, which transmission, what you want it to do etc, etc. there is no such thing as a ball park figure without first telling which trans, and second if your wanting stock or modified.
Personally around here for a C6 about $600 seems to be pretty typical.

the reason for the wide range is if any of hte hard parts are bad they are hard to come by for that tranny, and pretty expensive too, so that wide range is to be expected since until it's torn down there is no way to know for sure if all the hard parts are still in good shape.
