Hello EVERYONE! I just joined and looking foward to all the new information that we can exchange. To start things off I have just a couple of ford products: 1965 Merc. Comet 404 with a 289, 1966 Mustang Coupe 6 CLY., and my BIG DOG is my 1972 F-100 Sport Custom with under the dash A/C and a LITTLE 390.
I have been having problems with my FE it is mixing oil in the cooling system. I have by-passed the transmission lines to a external cooler, and this did not help.
I have been told that it is the oil tubes in the block which supply oil to the rocker arms.
My BIG QUESTION is, how well does tubing these oil passages work? I would LIKE VERY MUCH TO SAVE MY .030 OVER 390!
If you head on down to the engine forums you could probably find what you are looking for. Just look for the specific forum that pertains to your question.
