It's unfortunate that some of you didn't enjoy your highschool years.

I enjoyed mine. Maybe a little too much; if you know what I mean.

Then I looked at some of your ages.

When I went to highschool, it was a different era than when some of you went.

You that have graduated within the past 2-5-10-20 years or so, had it more diffucult than we did.

Just different eras. Still, too bad you didn't enjoy them years.

of all the people i thought about calling up, so far none of them have their home phone number. i did get an email from a girl from high school thru that classmates site. but sounded more like an MLM pitch than "hey let's hook up"

Never cared about high school, just figured it was something I was being forced to do, and got thru it as fast as I could. I only had one decent buddy in high school, and we grew apart after graduation. Five of the others that I really liked in HS , committed suicide within 7 years of graduating, so they must not have liked HS either. .

I say that because the late sixties, early seventies were fun for me in HS.

Times were easier.

Kids nowadays have a much tougher time because times are tougher.

They have to grow up faster. Everthing is faster now.

jake00, I don't know when you graduated from HS, so I can't make a comparison.

Of course, JMHO.

Edit: I just saw that your'e about 24. Class of 98-99?

You guys had it more difficult than I did.

It's in the news.

Eh, I looked up my old high school. Found out that it's closed. Consolidated with the next town. BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAAHHHAHAHHAHAHHHHAHHAAA AAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

It was a pit and all the people that attended there were horses backsides. The school was 300 students (K thru 12) in a 600 population town. I moved there in 8th grade and had the pleasure of being the 'new' kid (with all the torment and bullying that went with it) for 3 years. If I hadn't had another outlet there might have been another Paducha, Jonesborro, or Columbine. Looking at some of the bios, it looks like most of those jerks are still there living their dead-end lives.

Nope, I'm not bitter.

Did I go to High School? Yeah, I guess I did. Yeah, I remember it now. I graduated too.

I don't remember anybody I would want to make contact with from that era. Just a blur. A bunch of long haired guys with girl's pink combs in their back pockets. They never brought their own pencil to class. There was very little crime or drug use. I remember one guy half my size in metal shop I think who wanted to take me on one day. He strutted around like an under-sized rooster so there was some comic relief for us. He's probably a stand-up comic today.

Most of the kids were OK but I don't think I would want to buddy with them. I had a few friends I liked but not many. One guy was into weight lifting so we hung around together but the rest of them, no.

I didn't do the classmates thing either...have better uses for my $$. Besides, I attended my 25th HS reunion last year and got a list of everyone's names/addresses/phone #'s so if I choose to contact any of them I can do it for free

I've been on for a few years. The new wears off after a while. Looked up some folks, got a few emails, had a few take their names off after I PM'd them--those weren't from my HS but I found them thru CM.

Anyway, our site was pretty active before the 30 year, and stayed that way until about a year ago when it became clear that two sisters were using it as their personal email and daily "blog" if you will. The same crap over and over again. In addition, judgmental comments about others and daily diary was like reading an "I'm stupid and can prove it" column.

No one posts, most let their membership lapse and I will do the same when it comes up.

Good idea, but easily FUBAR'd.

As for y'all that didn't like HS, well, sorry.

Most of the people I knew are either dead from drugs, in jail, or struggling - or successful in some way.

I don't see how that helps me.

I got out, and now I have today to deal with.
