Best place to get new doors

I need to get new doors for my 79' 150 regular cab. After all the talk lately of after market stuff not fitting well I was wondering if anybody had good or bad luck with anyones repro doors out there. Wheres the best place to get new ones? Or would I be better off to find a set of orginals in excellent shape? Anybody know a place close to southern MN, I'm right in the middle of the state on I-90, and have family in Des Moines, South Dakota and Madison WI if anybody knows any place close that would be great as I dont really want to truck freight doors.

Thanks guys, I didn't think that $165 for the repros was bad, I'm sure the $365 orginal ford tooling doors are better but OUCH!! If I cant round up a nice set of orginals from a junk yard or individuals I'll probably go with the repros. Anybody use them? How did they fit?

Usually repos are not very good. They are usually made overseas from inferior metal and usually don't line up well. I would scour the junk yards first and see what you come up with. If nothing I would get the NOS doors. If you buy the repos, IMHO, your're wasting money and time. You get what you pay for.

A friend of mine bought some repo bedsides off a buddy of his. They were brand new and still in the box. Neither one fit right, the tail light holes were wrong, ect., ect.
Not worth the few bucks you save if you ask me. Same with tail gates. Don't buy the repos, after hours of trying to line them up, you will need a break. At which point you will set on your new tail gate and buckle it. Heard it more than once.

I can agree not wanting to buy more expensive doors, especially on a tight budget, but I feel that you will probably end up doing it again sooner than later.

Just my $.02

I second that. The money spent in NOS doors is far better than the aggravation of putting on doors that will not fit right, plus figure in, if you paint the doors off the truck like I did, you don't want to have to adjust them(move them around) any more than necessary or make sure to have touch-up and matchstick available.

See them on ebay a lot, shipping will be painful, but one may live close to seller and be able to pick them up.

I wouldn't go for a repo door also. Opting for a salvage yard may be a better idea. I live near LA and I had the parts for my ride usually shipped from Ford Parts Online, they have doors for less than $400 I think.. hope this helps

When I can get the funds, rustfreeparts is probably where I will go to get a "new" bed.
