Anyone from Pheonix, AZ every deal with Pheonix-Reman. Trans. Or has anyone from this site bought one from them. I saw them on Ebay and wondered if they were a good company to deal with. Looking for a reman e4od for my 93 4 x 4. Any info would be appreciated.
there are a few people on this site and the falcon site i am a member of that have had such bad experiences with P.R.T. what they will rather walk than even think about recommending them to anyone, even their own enemy's.
i have read some of the horror stories on the website dedicated to helping people that have been riped off by them, and there are over 20 pages of bad evil nastiness. one of the guys from here on F.T.E. put 5 aod transes in his truck , with 2 of them being the same one he took out and sent back without them ever fixing it before he said the heck with it and put a junkyard trans in his truck and wrote it off as a learning experience.
I just found that site, Phoenix hard parts sounds like a real nightmare. JUST SAY NO! to giving all your money away for substandard low grade parts and poor customer service. It sucks, thier prices are great. I called them and they told me they were better than Jasper. That's when I knew. Call them and ask them about all the recomended upgrades Jasper does on the less than stellar e4od.
I can't speak for anyone else's experience with phoenix, but I won't recommend them to anyone. In the interest of being fair, I opted not to get the deluxe warranty and got the standard 6 months. My warranty time had expired when my e4od broke. I did call them and they went strictly by the book, informing me that my trans was no longer under warranty. I knew what the warranty was and that one was on me.
On the other hand, when any professional provides a service, their willingness to stand behind their work is directly proportional to their professionalism.
I run a service department and if my customer has a problem that is out of warranty, I don't have a problem meeting them halfway, such as parts at cost, free or reduced labor, credit towards other services or products, etc. even if abuse or negligence is suspected.
I recommend not using phoenix.
I sold my shop because of companies like this. If you try to do a quality job and charge a fair price people point to outfits like this and claim you are ripping them off. I try to tell them that when a deal is too good to be true, its too good to be true. Seldom did anyone listen.
There are a bunch of outfits like this. Phoenix is just like so many low priced shops. They quote impossibly low prices and claim they are just as good as the high end shops and that the high end shops are the ones ripping people off.
The thing is; Phoenix (and the others) are selling transmissions at prices lower than the parts costs. Even if you don't think that's the case, figure they are half the price of Jasper and most other reputable remanufacturers.
There is no free lunch. You get what you pay for. You can't get something for nothing. .... and all those other cliche's... are cliche's for a reason.
I used to say the same thing, but as I've gotten older I modified it a little- You may not always get what you pay for, but you will never get it if you don't pay for it.

Yeah, I will say that not all high end shops do quality work. I have seen that first had too.
How about one of these versions: If you don't pay for it, you won't get it. Or; If you pay cheap, you get cheap.
