Do you have insurance on the phone. My wife lost her cell phone once. We had insurance on it for another $3/month and they replaced it for free. Also, if you can't get it to work, see about buying a used cell phone from your carrier. That might save you quite a few bucks. Otherwise the a/c trick sounds like a good idea or maybe a blow dryer.
Your phone will be fine, but you will need a new battery. We had a very similar incident with a Samsung E-715. We placed it on a paper towel undel a very warm lamp for two days and made sure that is was completely dry. After that we put a new battery in it and it worked fine for another year until the screen started to go (it's a known issue with Samsungs). I replaced it with another Samsung and couldn't be happier. I will probably continue with Samsung until they quit making phones.
My girlfriends Nokia got wet after an afternoon of riding atv's and I removed the battery and let it sit over night. Phone works fine after drying out.
I dropped a phone in a pool not too long ago. It sunk to the bottom and it took a good 15 seconds for me to take my shoes and shirt off and dive in for it. I thought it was ruined, but I took the battery pack out, dried everything as best I could and set in front of an A/C vent for a few days......It powered right back up and still works months later.
Good luck.
Try drying it out. But if that doesn't work, activate phone insurance just for a month, get your new phone, and cancel the insurance after that. My sister did that when her phone broke. Just make sure you don't call them and tell them there's a problem with it when you put insurance on it!
I used deionized (similar to distilled) water to rinse out computer equipment that had anything spilled or poured into it. Once dry, everything worked fine. The same was used for dunked camera equipment.
It is my understanding that Samsung has a safety feature built in that fries the battery instead of the phone if it gets wet. Once it gets dried out, try to turn it on, if it doesn't power on, go to a t-mobile store and try a different battery.
If you can't wait two days, just toss it in the clothes dryer and set it on "permanent press" for about half an hour. I find this also works with cats, kids and laptops. They may look the worse for wear, but they all get over it. (Okay, let the phone calls from PETA and Social Services begin!)
