Check out my gallery I installed a proboxrocks subbox that I picked up locally for 150 and a pioneer 10in sub that i picked up from cardomain for 31 . After you decide what type of box and sub you want to use ( there are many options) ou just need a amp and then run down to walmart and pick up a speaker level or line level converter ( same thing just some ppl call them different names) its in the automotive secvtion with the stereo's about 17 bucks I think it wires in to your regular speakers and then allows you to use rca cables to your amp . thats how I had mine installed until I got my kenwood stereo
Hi- I have a new '05 Lariat Supercab with the factory Premium Sound and 6-Disc CD system that sounds worse that my old Escort. What did you have to do to install the Audiophile Box ,or will it work with this system? Any other suggestions would be appreciated
I ended up making my own subwoofer box with a single CDT audio 10" subwoofer. I have tried to attach it to my existing audiophile system. I have the diagram of the plug with the +/- signal wires. From trial and error I found the signal wire coming from the audiophile system is carrying a very weak signal. I could barely make the subwoofer using a more than powerful enough MTX amp. I even tried a speaker level converter but was unsucessful. I think the signal wire coming from the audiophile system is low pass only and has a very weak signal. Any suggestions??? Has anyone else been sucessful???

I think that you have probably hit the nail on the head about the signal being to weak. when I ran mine i had changed out the door speakers so I ran my speaker level converter off of the door speaker wire that way when I get a 4 channel amp the wires for the back door speakers is already there and all I have to do is cut the wires that lead to the stereo. but as far as your problem I would probably just hook in to your speaker wires and run your converter off of them.
