73-77 trucks
I want to buy a 73-77 F-100 with a 390 V8 and a 4 speed manuel.So I ask u guys what to look for when looking for one or what years are good buys.I want 2WD regular cab .

a good strong engine, decent body, look for a cracked frame around the steering pump, the cab corners are always the first to go on that era truc, make sure the vin numbers match on the door and the frame. that's all i can think of

Rust in bed above rear wheels. Rust in cab corners (Look at the area between the cab and bed). 390s were only available up to 1976. Loose steering could be the rag joint between the steering column or it could be the king pins.

Be sure to check the stroke, it is amazing how many 360s turn into 390s when they are for sale. Other than the stroke you wont be able to tell the difference.
