I have a 78 F150 460/4x4 with a 9" rear w/3.50 gears. I have a small crack in the axle housing where the carrier bolts on so I want to replace the axle tube. I put in a mini spool, replaced the pinion seal and axle bearings, and a few other things so I don't want a whole rear end. My questions are:
Are all the axle tubes the same for the 9" in the 73-79 era?
Does it matter if I have 28 or 31 spline axles?
Are the axle bearings the same size?
