Nope- you buy what you like, since you... not us... have to pay for it. I am surprised about your observations about power and ride. I've driven any number of those two- the Dodge has got a lot more get-up and go, but the Ford will outride it. I'll also take issue with the idea that you can buy a Dodge Quad Cab for $1500 less than a Ford S/C- if they're comparably equipped. That may be true used , but not new... if it's apples to apples.
Polar, not sure if I could buy it for $1500 cheaper, but thats what it would take for me to buy the Dodge over the Ford. For the same price i'd go Ford.
To each his own; I think one of the truly OUTSTANDING features of the 150 is the comfort of the seats, but that's certainly going to vary from one person to another.
I was in the same delimma back in March of this year. . .and was trying to decide between the Ford F150 SuperCrew XLT 4x4 and the Dodge 1500 Quad Cab SLT 4x4. . apples to apples the Dodge came out about $1250 less than that Ford.
Personally I like the styling of the Ford better, but the truck was for the wife and she like the Dodge better, so we got the Dodge. .
As Jeff and Polar said, it is up to you, to each their own.
Yea Jake, I was, but I really like the clean lines of the new f150 and the interior styling. I think to get the options I want and to be at the price point we want to be, the F150s will do the job and the 250 will be just out of where we want to be pricewise. I tried to PM you, but it said that you don't accept private messages. Hope all is well.
Oh, by the way the Dodge 6.25 ft bed can fit 5 lobster crates flat in its bed, double stacked makes 10. 100 lbs of lobster per crate and 17 lb crates makes 1170 lbs.
I'm checking the F150 6.5ft bed tommorrow with actual lobster crates, and will update then if there is a difference in the amount of crates it can hold. obviously if i can hold 12 crates instead of 10 that will give a pretty good edge to the F150.

Awesome. I'll pick up 800 pounds of butter and meet you anywhere you like!!!
Well, just got done with the f150 and it just misses holding 6 crates flat by about 2 inches. Nicely equipped truck w/reverse sensing, black sidesteps, 5.4l 3.55 rear end elecrtonic shift on the fly limited slip.
As usaul the F-150 wins hands down on most everything, As far as ride quality the Dodge will ride much rougher then the Ford Im surprised people want a rougher ride vs a smooth carlike ride. They ride a lot rougher then a superduty. To each his own I guess. IMO opinionthe Dodge does not have the build quality off the Ford. It might be cheaper but its that cheaper. You pay for what you get.
Not too many 8 foot supercab xlts around these parts, I need 2 similarly equipped.
Last week, I bought a true blue 2005 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 Super Cab with an 8' bed, HD payload package, tow package, and the works! MSRP $37k. Marked down to $27k with the Ford Family price and rebates. It has just about every option you can want. I didn't find what I was looking for at my local dealers, but once I expanded my search on forddirect.com I found plenty. In fact, there were at least 15 of these within 2.5 hours of my home. I'm sure I could find more if I kept looking. A few dealers had 3 or 4 of the 8 foot XLT super cabs to choose from. You have to play around with different zip codes and cities large and small. If you give me your zip code, I'm sure I can find plenty of what you're looking for. Give it a try! Once you find a truck, just hit the contact the dealer button and the dealer will give you a call. It saves a lot of time. My dealer called me back almost instantly and I picked up the truck the next day. If you are doing any amount of hauling, I wouldn't settle for anything less than an 8' bed. As far as I'm concerned it isn't a full size truck unless you can fit a sheet of plywood in it. Ford is the best. F the rest. Good luck with your search.
I guess you just took the family plan price. But it seems in the other thread, someone got another $3k below the family plan. Maybe that's just a misunderstanding. But hope it's not.
