So i picked up this 91 Geo storm. 1.6L OHC. Drove it around awhile and the headgasket blew. I drained the oil, refilled it, oiled up the pistons and let it sit awhile, as gas went back down briefly last year.
Now that fuel is approaching $2.50ish a gallon in my area (Southern MS) i think its time i drag her out of mothballs and replace something i needed to do last year.
Question is, is how do i go about doing this the right way? I've changed many a cylinder head and gasket on my various fords...but i've never dealt with an overhead cam setup.
Anybody got any pointers to get past this little "problem"? I'm just trying not to screw anything else up while i'm at it.
I would also see if you can get a discount when you buy a pack of ten headgaskets for that car. You'll need them all over the course of a couple years!
Other than being a wiseguy, I don't have any advice. Sorry.
