I have a 2002 F350 PSD Lariate.
The front sits a fair amount lower than the rear.
What is there that can legitimately raise the front 2" or so?
What is the most effective route to follow:
1) An aftermarket front spring kit
2) A set of F450 front springs
3) Different brackets/hardware
Any links, pics or part numbers would be appreciated.
e-bay and jc whitney also have good options for a leveling kit. add a leaf kits are the best way to go as far as value and simplicity and effectiveness.
Pro Comp makes a good leveling kit. I have one on my truck, and have had no complaints in the two years it's been installed. Check my gallery if you wanna see what it looks like.
well, i just put a leveling kit on my F-350 the other weekend. check bottom for before and after pics. it is a Rough Country system, 2'' is what they claimed. but i believe with the heavy engine and 70K highway miles, the front has sagged 1-2'' with the stock springs. so, i believe it leveled it out 3-4''. i got mine off ebay, it was around $320 including shipping. these leaves are heavy! (70lbs a piece). i installed it myself in one day, 5-6 hours, (15 year old) with some of that time being sitting looking at the parts and learning. i did have one problem, the drag link bar pivots on a radius, the farther up you lift the truck, the more it pulls the front axle left (sitting in seat). so i had to ratchet strap the axle and the springs and pull them opposite ways (about an inch) so the springs would fit in the hole in the top of the axle mounting surface. but all in all, it was a great investment, made the truck better looking 150%. i havent had much cutting of the tires (bad alignment), but i do believe i had thrown it off some by lifting it. so i will keep a eye on the tires
I have a 350 and put on a Tuff country leveling kit, it consisted of 5 stack springs and using the regular springs also, the ride stifened alittle bit but not bad (rides like a truck now) I have heard the add-a-leaf spring leaves the truck riding really rough.
i also used the Rough country 2" add a leaf,, 69.99+ shipping,, about 90.00 delivered. I did one side at a time on my truck,Much easier, and the axle never shifts. Went to the alignment shop and they said perfect,,no changes needed. I even used the factory U bolts, and they say you shouldnt, have checked several times over the last 20,000 and havent loosened up any.about a 3hr job from start to finished cleaning up tools and etc. Worth every penny to me,, Ride is firm, but not harsh at all,, actually helped the handling A LOT,, took all the lean out of it on sharp turns too. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
