Suspension Bushings E350

I would like to upgrade my suspension busings to Energy Suspension. When I went to the store they said there were 2 sizes available. I have a 2000 E350 with the 7.3 Power Stroke. The current bushing where the sway bar goes through the I-Beam have a large opening around them. Will the replacements fit better and help improve the ride.

Based on what I have read I am going to replace all the bushings I can with the Energy products.

Thanks for any assistance.

Sounds like your bushings are worn/sagged out. I've gone to the "Energy" bushings, they have held up better than stock so far. There should actually be no space around the end of the sway bar. After you get the old ones out, use a large c-clamp and push the new bushings in. Using some silicone grease on the bushings will help. There should be a little tube included with the bushings. There is only one size of bushing, but red or black color. As far as your other post, check the drag link/ tie-rod ends for play. Have someone turn the steering wheel while looking at these and you will see if there is any play. John

Removing the old bushing

To get the old ones out could be a bit of a hassle; what I did is, after removing the swaybar completely, is cutting through the rubber and then trough the metal bushing, using a hacksawblade.

The metal bushing is of course the problem; make sure you do not cut too much into the I-beam metal.
Once there is a 'slot' in the bushing, it is very easy to knock out.
Knocking the new ones in is not a problem either, but as stated above, lubrivate, after removing any rust in the I-beam holes.
