I own a 71 F100 4x4. I want to put 36x13.50x15 Iroks on it. Will 4" of suspension lift be enough? I am putting some flexy springs on it for trail use.Just wonderin cause I might go with a 6" suspension lift if 4" of suspension lift will not work. Thanks
Make sure you buy wheels with the correct backspacing or your fronts will rub on the radius arms. It will be a close fit. If you want some reference, check out my gallery under rowdy rig. 4" suspension, 3" body, 35x12.5x15.
I agree that it will be close. I've just got 4" of suspension lift and 35x12.50s and it is just "comfortable". You might have to trim some to be comfortable with 36s that wide, but hey, why not go 6"?
Are you swapping to wider shackles for the rear springs?
Just wondering if you are running the stock Dana 44 on it with those big tires?
My mini-king pins have already been broken and the bolts sheared from running just 31s. The good news is the Dana 30 kingpins fit from JBG and are only $10. I don't know what to do on the knuckles with the stripped threads. The rethreads from 3/8 to 7/16 did not hold.
I was kind of hoping the Dana 30 knuckles are the same as the Dana 44?
Nope..I got rid of the stock d44. I sourced a d44 from a 76' f100 4x4 , it is a high pinion with disc brakes and then I added 4.56 gears and warn chromemoly axles and ctm ujoints ..oh and a powertrax no slip locker.
Hey ramboss ya finally got her together huh...good luck with the tire fitment. I havent been on here lately because I am going to skool now and i live in rapid with no computer. Hard to juggle school work partying rodeo and wheeling. Call me if you are ever in the area.
