Fender Removal
I have a 1993 F150, and am currently removing the front fenders for repair. I have all the bolts that I can see from the top out, but the fender is still in tight. Just wondering if anyone could give me some help at finding the rest of the fasteners. Do the headlights have to come out? Thanks
There's a boatload of little screws for the inner fender liner to the fender lip. All of those have to come out too.
If you open the door 1/2 way and look in around the middle of the height of the door, you'll see one more bolt for the fender. That comes out too.
And finally, there is one bolt underneath the bottom of the fender right near the door, bolting the fender to the body. I would remove this one first actually, because it's possible to have the fender bend right there, if all the other bolts are removed. I usually take the top ones out last. Zap one back in loosely so the fender doesn't fall off and get bent up.
-remove screws attaching fender to radiator support
-remove one screw attaching lower end of fender to cab
-remove one screw from inside attaching lower end of fender to cowl
-remove screws attaching front fender to cowl extension
-remove screws attaching fender to apron
-remove bolts attaching battery tray for right fender
-remove hood latch from left fender
-remove hood assist spring to front fender
-remove fender
hope that helps.
