Yeah, everything went well. I took the opportunity to add a slave database server. FTEl be going down for about 2 hours later this week in the early AM to get it up and running. So if the database has a hardware failure we'll have a hot backup.

Hot Ford trucks and computer geekery, some of the finer things in life I enjoy. Glad to see I am in good company. Thanks, Ken for your fine work and for burning your weekend. It rained here all weekend, I had to drive to Atlanta and back so I couldn't get on the computer, so I couldn't fiddle with the truck and I couldn't get on the forum. Your sacrifice is still appreciated here.

Thanks guys.

FYI... took the server down about 1:15am last night for a couple of hours. The "slave" database server is now up and running, ready to go into action should the primary server have a failure in the future. Hope I haven't been too grumpy the last couple of days.

Don't worry about it, I hope that I was not too grumpy to you. Since I've been off my feet the past few weeks, FTE is one of the main enjoyable parts of my day.

Thanks. As to time for myself.... I'm working from home. 4 days of little sleep finally got to me and I'm feeling under the weather. Staying home rather than spread anything I might have.

Ken, does the money that comes in from the supporters go far enough to cover the hardware costs, or do you defray the costs in other ways?

The money from supporters doesn't even scratch the surface of FTE's expenses. There are 4 full time staff members, 2 part-time staffers plus all the normal things any business has as expenses and the additional items IT companies have.
