Hello Recently I aquired a free good working older 750 holly double pumper. With this I also got a old F351-4V intake off a 351 cleveland all for FREE. I would like to use these parts on my 400. I know weiand makes a spacer to put on their 351 cleveland manifolds to the 400 so in theory the F351-4V intake would work with this too. Im broke and this is going to be a non-street legal offroad beater for offroading with freinds in the backcountry. I will also change the cam and lifters. What size do you recommend on cam maybe a comp cam 268H. I would like to keep this under 500$. I just need a cam to swallow all this fuel. It will run open exhaust manifolds and will never be run on the street so that isn't a problem. I know the parts are old but they all still work fine. So could I get this manifold to the engine with the spacer and get a large enough cam for this carb? Thanks for the replys.
compcams.com- you can send in info to have them selec- or look at the offering. I think you will be disappointed unless you have the 4v heads- then you could build a fire dragon- also do the bearings while you have it out- thats not much $$$. It should put out some power and make the 750 usable --put in a big tank cause you'll be doing good to get 8mpg.
Weiand no longer makes that spacer. It was made for using an aftermarket 4 barrel 351C-2V manifold on a 351M/400 with 2V heads. With some work, it could be used to mate a 351C manifold to a 351M/400 with 351C-4V heads. The spacers will not work with a 351C-4V manifold and 2V heads. The 4V manifold ports are too high.
Price Motorsports make some adapters, but they are expensive, and they probably don't make one for a 4V manifold to a 2V head, due to the mismatch.
You should look for a used Edelbrock #2171, or Weiand #8010 on Ebay or elsewhere. It will be cheaper.
the spacers and the effort/tools to do it would cost more than picking up a correct intake. Ebay. trade or sell the 351C intake to offset the cost, might break even?
