Love the shifter placement.

Too bad the picture taker didn't have enough gumption to pull off the "masking" and grab a pic.

The guy that took the pics said that the guy driving the test mule was watching him the whole time while he was taking the pics, and that he went inside to use the restroom and came back out then took some more pics. While he was getting into his truck, the owner of the test mule came out but apparently only got his cell phone, then went back inside.

Also, did anyone notice the shifter.

the interior is almost indentical of a f-150 and it kinda looks like a f-150 with a camper shell.

To me it looks a lot like a last generation Suburban that has been customized with Ford Excursion/Expedition parts. I know it's just a test vehicle but it looks too long and too droopy in the ***. Maybe they got 100's of lbs of gear back there, I dunno. And WTH is that red button on the dash? Is it like a self-destruct button in case any corporate spies get too close?

i dont like the placement of the shifter i think it just gets in the way adn arnt trucks sopposed to have them on the console, i just think it would be more practacle for storage if they moved the shifter just my 3 cents

It really does look like a extra long F-150 that is in need of some stiffer springs. I hope they are going with tires that size on the actual production model. It will be interesting to see what they put out next year.

I did notice after expanding the picture, the decal below the 4WD switch reads;

EMERGENCY STOP

WARNING- This vehicle has a prototype powertrain

type of system. In the event of engine output

greater than desired, press stop switch button

to shut down engine.

If button is pressed please contact (xxx) xxx-xxxx

Might we see a powertrain not already in current production?

I sure hope they do, but if it falls into the normal pattern we probably won't see the diesel till 2007.5 or 2008. With a new model they like to save a little something for the future.
I'll be sure to post it here if I find anything out!!
